ELEVATE - a dynamic youth mentoring and leadership intiative

Aged between 15 & 19?
Looking for exciting & challenging activities?
Wanting to develop their leadership potential & learn practical skills?
Able to make a 12 month commitment?
Would benefit from being coached by an adult role model?
Then ELEVATE might be just the program for them!
What is Elevate?
The Elevate program is a partnership between Mission Australia &
PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation. It is a dynamic, FREE program that runs for
twelve months, linking young people with adult role models, or 'coaches', with
activities designed to develop & enhance the young person's leadership and
employability skills, as well as their confidence and self-esteem.
The activities include two skills workshops; three overnight retreats;
recreational activities; career profiling; work experience and graduation. Also
included is a community project, where young people and their coaches put their
leadership skills into action by working in teams to complete a small project to
benefit the broader community.

Where do the coaches come from?
All coaches are PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) employees. All the coaches are
professional people with a wealth of leadership experience in the workplace and
want to share this experience with young people and make a difference in their
community. Each coach undertakes training to understand some of the issues
facing
young people today.

Recruitment for the 08/09 Programs will commence at the beginning of April.
Please note that all activities are run outside of normal school hours, and the
program is absolutely free of charge for young people. Most activities take
place
in the CBD of Melbourne. Young people need to be able to commit to attending all
activities which is, on average, a minimum of one per month.
