Hi everyone,
I would like some pointers and references for employment within Brisbane. I am a recent Creative Industries graduate (with submajors in arts management and creative writing) and have work and volunteer experience with media, events, arts organisations, community organisations, creative industries, and cross-cultural activities.
Currently I am developing my creative practice in performance, both onstage and offstage (through my freelance enterprise The Merch Girl). In June & July I assisted Youth Affairs Network Queensland with their website as well as with analysing the results of their survey on alternative education providers in Queensland. I have also reorganised policy and procedures and prepared a draft employee handbook for Zen Zen Zo, wrote up a cultural diversity strategy plan for Transit Lounge Brisbane (which I had mentioned on YouthGas last year), coordinated marketing surveys for the Brisbane Writers Festival, assisted with publicity and operations for US global nonprofit Up with People, amongst various others.
I am seeking part-time employment that will allow me to support myself while I explore my creativity. (Full-time work is fine too) I would love to work in places that allow me to support people with their dreams and aspirations (especially young people), in creative and unusual spaces, with a mix of cultures and backgrounds. I'm up for jobs in personal assistance, administration, secretarial, sponsorship, events, marketing, grantwriting, copywriting, activity coordination, artistic direction, being an assistant to someone, mailroom, anything at all.
I have strong skills in professional & creative writing, cross-cultural communication, computing and Internet applications, social media, research, idea generation, and stage management, and am a quick and eager learner. I have an RSA and Senior First Aid and have experience working with children. I am currently on a Bridging Visa (applying for permanent residency) which allows me unlimited work rights.
