Subject:[youthgas] Rock and Water Tour - Oct / Nov '09

Hi Youthgas Members!

THE ROCK AND WATER NATIONAL TRAINING TOUR - OCT / NOV 2009 REGISTER ONLINE -
Places will fill up fast - don't miss out!

SAFETY | INTEGRITY | SOLIDARITY | SELF-CONTROL | SELF-CONFIDENCE | SELF-RESPECT

Proudly presented by the Family Action Centre and Gadaku Institute, the training
offers teachers, educators and youth workers a new way to interact with boys and
girls through physical-social teaching. The program constantly links physical
exercises with mental and social skills. Starting with simple, self-defence,
boundary and communication exercises it leads to a strong notion of
self-confidence and an awareness of purpose and motivation. The program includes
numerous opportunities for boys and girls to explore their own identity, learning
and relationships in a non-threatening way. Many schools and youth services
have introduced Rock and Water as an effective anti-bullying tool.

The Rock and Water program was developed by Freerk Ykema, a respected
educationalist from The Netherlands who trains educators throughout the world and
who personally trained our tour presenter Brian Hayes. Both workshop
facilitators Freerk and Brian, focus on strategies to enhance social and
emotional development of students.
