Subject:[youthgas] ANCD/NIDAC Consultation Darwin - NEW VENUE and TIME
Date:Tuesday, August 25, 2009  08:40:03 (+1000)
From:Tracey Kristiansen <Tracey @........au>

Dear Colleagues,

For your information and distribution amongst your networks...

The Australian National Council on Drugs (ANCD) and the National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Committee is holding a consultation forum in Darwin for those working to address alcohol and drug issues.

PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE AND TIME HAS BEEN CHANGED (DETAILS BELOW)

There are still opportunities to participate – we look forward to seeing you there!

Dr John Herron, Chairman of the Australian National Council on Drugs (ANCD), and Assoc/Professor Ted Wilkes, Chairman of the National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Committee, extend an invitation to people working within the alcohol and other drugs sector to attend:

Consultation on Drug and Alcohol Issues

Darwin

Please note new TIME and VENUE

On Thursday 3 September 2009

8.30am – 10.15am

(Arrival tea and coffee from 8.15am)

To be held at the Council for Aboriginal Alcohol Program Services (CAAPS),

Cultural Block, 60 Boulter Road, Berrimah, Darwin

(The forum will precede CAAPS 25th Anniversary Open Day celebrations)

The ANCD and NIDAC are seeking views from non-government, community based, government, education, health and law enforcement staff.

Formal presentations will be made by representatives of the ANCD, NIDAC and the Northern Territory government.

This is your chance to have your voice heard on issues that are important to you, your organisation and your community.  The forum aims to be a collage of opinions, ideas and resolutions across a range of areas.  The conclusions from the forum will be reported in the ANCD and NIDAC communiqués which are sent to a number of key decision makers and stakeholders and placed on the ANCD website.

The Australian National Council on Drugs is the principal advisory body to government on drug policy and plays a critical role in ensuring the voice of the community is heard in relation to drug related policies and strategies. Auspiced by the ANCD, NIDAC is the leading voice in Indigenous alcohol and drug policy.

Please feel free to forward this invitation to other relevant personnel
